The cradle of art and culture, elegant and cosmopolitan Florence with its world-known venues and undisputed charm.
When in 1953 Harry's Bar opened its doors it was a modern and exclusive Florentine lounge. Today it is part of the city’s history and tradition where generations of loyal locals and celebrities alike have been hanging out since the first day.
The venue is a fruit of the creativity and passion of Enrico Mariotti - who at the time worked at the Hotel Excelsior with Giuseppe Cipriani, the owner of Harry's Bar in Venice - and Raffaello Sabatini.
In 1964 the restaurant moved from the Parione street to its current location on Lungarno Vespucci, where a few years ago it extended to the upper floor used for special events.
The ambiance remains that of a past era: the bar counter and the wooden boiserie, the Murano glass chandeliers, and the Alcantara cushion chairs, all the furnishings are strictly original.
The menu wants to liven up the soul of the place and has maintained the dishes since day one. Carpaccio with Harry's Bar sauce, taglierini au gratin, tartare prepared at the table, spaghettini Enrico Mariotti’s style, shrimp cocktail with Marie Rose sauce, chicken and prawn curries, chicken salad, club sandwich.
The classic cuisine of Harry's Bar has always lived up to its guests' expectations; however, the menu now offers several seasonal options based on high-quality ingredients from local and international suppliers.
The choice of water is yet another sign of quality. The restaurant serves Millennium Water - Antica Fonte della Salute, a pure and light water in elegant bottles that perfectly matches the ambiance of this place.
The wine list gives preference to local producers from Tuscany. However, you will find an excellent choice of French labels too, such as Champagne, as well as Franciacorta, and Pinot Nero. Try their American Bar where you can order any imaginable cocktail.
Harry's Bar is a piece of history. Its story, which lives in the memory of the Florentines, was told in a book published in 2013 on its 63d anniversary.
The style of this place is simply… Harry's Bar style, classic and elegant, timeless.
