Our first stop is the village of Arquà Petrarca. Nestled in the hills of the Euganean Hills, it is a medieval jewel linked to the poet Francesco Petrarca, who spent the last years of his life here. Strolling through its cobbled streets, you can admire his house, now a museum, the Loggia dei Vicari and the church of Santa Maria Assunta, where his remains rest.

In addition to history, the village offers authentic flavours: not to be missed is the brodo di giuggiole, a typical sweet liqueur, together with the honeys and wines of the Euganean Hills, for a food and wine experience that encapsulates the soul of this land.

For our lunch break with San Benedetto, we stop at Ser Petracco Enoristorante, a refined restaurant that celebrates Veneto cuisine with a touch of creativity. Here, authentic local flavours meet the elegance of contemporary dining, with dishes prepared with fresh, selected ingredients.

What to absolutely see around here

Our itinerary takes us to Montagnana, one of the best-preserved fortified towns in Italy, with a mediaeval wall that stretches for almost two kilometres.

Built between the 13th and 14th centuries, the mighty brick walls, up to ten metres high and punctuated by twenty-four towers, protected the town from sieges. Passing through Porta Padova, you enter a charming historic centre dominated by the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, with frescoes attributed to the school of Giorgione.

The San Zeno Castle, one of the most imposing defensive structures, now hosts cultural events and historical exhibitions. In addition to its architectural heritage, Montagnana is famous for its PDO Veneto Ham, produced according to traditional methods that guarantee its sweet and delicate flavour. A village that tells centuries of history and is well worth a visit for those wishing to immerse themselves in the medieval atmosphere of the Veneto.

We can reach Mogliano Veneto, in the province of Treviso, to sit down at the Osteria Al Turbine, an establishment that celebrates the Veneto tradition with passion and authenticity. Located along the Muson river, the osteria offers a cosy atmosphere and dishes inspired by local cuisine. Here, each dish tells the story of the territory, transforming the dinner into an experience of authentic flavours and conviviality accompanied by San Benedetto Millennium Water.

As an alternative, we can go to Scorzé, in the province of Venice, and reach Ristorante Perbacco, an elegant osteria where Venetian tradition meets creativity.
