A cozy restaurant with an ever-changing creative cuisine

In 1992 Renato Rizzardi found a place of his dreams for his future restaurant in Montecchio Precalcino, in the province of Vicenza. A restaurant away from the hectic city, with a prestigious history, located in a typical Venetian villa immersed in the countryside: Locanda di Piero.
Love at first sight and an opportunity to return to his homeland for a chef with years of experience in Italy and abroad looking for a place to express his passion.
Buying this property was a choice shared with his partner Sergio Olivetti.
Welcoming, elegant yet informal, Locanda di Piero expresses the philosophy of its managers. The time spent here is to be enjoyed in peace.

Right from the beginning, Renato Rizzardi put himself to the test, creating his own very personal innovative and creative, yet linked to tradition, cuisine line.
The ingredients, mostly local, are carefully chosen. Fruit and vegetables come from the village greengrocer, meat from a nearby farm, fish from the Chioggia market. The bread and pastries, it goes without saying, are home-made.
A constantly evolving universe of flavors: Renato Rizzardi is looking for the perfect dish he still hasn’t found and, perhaps, he will discover it tomorrow.
To taste creativity, try their fall menu. To start, "Turkey with pomegranate, walnuts, and kale"; among the first courses go for "Tortelloni with fresh Asiago fondue, chanterelles, bear’s leek, and sheets of Asiago al Torcolato” and “Rotzo potato gnocchi with smoked eel and orange carbonara”. To follow, "Double-cooked stuffed quail, Umbrian black truffle, wholegrain mustard, and vegetables au gratin", and to finish with something sweet try their "The world got drunk: Dark chocolate and aged rum 5+5 "Dos Maderas". Its chocolate is melted and poured at the table in front of the customer.
A wine list that matches unusual tastes and seasonality to accompany the restaurant's proposals. More than 300 labels, ranging from Italy to overseas, especially France. The selection of wines is taken care of by Sergio Olivetti, a professional sommelier.
They serve San Benedetto Millennium Water - Antica Fonte della Salute. It was the combination of water quality and elegant design to win over the managers.
For Renato Rizzardi, the restaurant is like a sphere: the customer is at the center with all the elements that make the pleasure of being at the table around it. With a preface like this, one can only walk out happy from Locanda di Piero.
